Why GroupFit at Home

WHY I Offer GroupFit at Home

I’ve taught fitness classes for all of my adult life. If there’s a class out there, I’ve probably taught some version of it. You could say “Health & fitness” is my passion. I’m also a Registered Nurse. But I don’t prefer bedside nursing. I really like the educational role of a nurse. Helping people get healthy so that they can avoid the bedside nurse, at least with things that are within their control. Putting those things together, my love for fitness, and the desire to help others get & stay healthy is where I find purpose. I’ve dreamed of owning my own fitness studio. But the other areas of my life just don’t allow that to be where all my focus needs to be right now.

I’m a mom. A homeschool mom to 4 lively, active kids. I’m a church volunteer. I dabble in landscaping. I’m busy, with normal life stuff. I like to eat healthy & workout, but sometimes life gets hectic and it’s a struggle to eat well and get to the gym. I love teaching classes. I love seeing normal people, with obesity, arthritis, depression, or just a victim of a busy life, to start taking control of their health. I LOVE that. However, my fitness classes don’t allow me a huge reach, and my life schedule limits how much I commit to teaching classes because I really want to be completely available to my family.

I’d heard of an at-home fitness program via a friend that had incredible results with it. I explored it so that I could use it at home when I wasn’t teaching. I loved it. I was surprised I enjoyed it because I had always done “group fitness”. I started following some other fitness lovers online. I saw they loved this same at-home program, too. This led to my decision to give it a try. I loved it! I believed in it. I wanted others to know about it, too! I mean, come on... who doesn't want to know about something that's efficient & effective. Yes, please!

I began to talk about this with my friends, along with sharing info about my own fitness classes, when someone asked for fitness advice. Slowly, I began to kick
around the idea of actually joining forces with the very people that created this at-home program I was loving so much. Why? Because I find it efficient & effective; I knew it was the real deal. I saw it was something I needed. I know others are like me, and need it, too. So I did it. All in one giant step, I became an online coach with this company, reluctantly tried some of their nutrition shakes, and joined my first Challenge Group. Oh, and just days later, launched my own free Challenge group. The Challenge Group? It’s such a cool, accountability partner, a cheerleader, and reminder to do what is good for me; It’s a place I can encourage the others in the group. My free group? I’m loving seeing people give something a shot that they otherwise wouldn’t be making time for. The nutrition shakes? Ugh. I didn’t want to like it. I already have a container of a cheaper protein powder. But this stuff is making me feel satisfied, light, full, and well, just good. (Did I say I didn’t want to like it?)

So here I am. A normal 40-something mom, with a passion for health & fitness, trying to be my best, & wanting to help others do that too! I think online coaching is the perfect outlet and extension to GroupFit to help me pursue that. I love seeing people feel good about themselves! I’m honored being a part of that journey with them. This is WHY I added the GroupFit at Home option. It works, and I believe in it.
